Simply put, I am a lover of knowledge. Before my love for knowledge, I was a struggling student searching for something "more". Questioning, why I could NOT understand the concepts others grasped so easily, was I just DUMB? The answer came many years later, I was not a typical student. I just did not learn the same way others did, and there was another way. Thus my journey towards a science education began. As I learned and consumed every bit of information I could from my undergraduate career I found myself wondering why there weren't more women in science. Statistically women make up nearly 50% of the US workforce but only 27% of STEM workers!!
Today I am a middle school science teacher, a mother, and facilitator of critical thinking. Currently I am working at Norman N. Glick Middle School teaching science. I strive to share my passion for science and learning with our youth, who may believe a career in STEM is not possible or may too hard.
